Donor:the relatives of the late Doctor Edward Sydney Simpson, first Bachelor and first Doctor of Science at the University and for 42 years mineralogist and chemist to the Government of Western Australia
Value:suitably inscribed books or instruments to the value of the annual income on £150 presented by the donors
Awarded by:the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Earth and Environment, in consultation with the relevant teaching staff
Awarded to:the student who, among those completing the requirements for honours in geology, has shown most proficiency in the subjects of mineralogy, petrology and economic geology throughout the course
