Gani, formerly reader in mathematical statistics in this University, having presented the sum of $200 for the establishment of a fund to provide a prize to be called the Abraham Wald Prize in Mathematical Statistics after the late Professor Abraham Wald, Professor of Statistics at Columbia University and originator of the field of sequential analysis, who was tragically killed in an aircraft accident in 1950, the fund is established and the prize is administered in accordance with the following conditions. 2. The prize consists of the annual income from the fund after capitalisation in accordance with Senate policy. 3. The prize is awarded by the appropriate Board of Examiners to the student who, among those who have completed units to the value of at least 96 points, has the highest average mark in Level 2 mathematical statistics units. |
