David Groves Prize for Postgraduate Research in Geology [F1930]

1. The David Groves Prize for Postgraduate Research in Geology is provided by the School of Earth and Environment in acknowledgement of the great contribution of Professor David Groves in supervising and encouraging postgraduate research in geology and geophysics.

2. The prize of $500 is awarded annually to the student who, among those enrolled in a research higher degree in geology for at least part of the year for which the award is made, is considered by the Head of the School of Earth and Environment, in consultation with the relevant academic staff, to have made, over the duration of the course, the most outstanding professional contribution to geology in the form of publication, research, organisation of scientific activities such as lectures or seminars, or related activities.
