The Nick Rock Memorial Prize of $500, provided annually by the School of Earth and Environment from the interest on a capital sum, to commemorate Dr Nick Rock, lecturer of the former Department of Geology and Geophysics, is awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Earth and Environment in consultation with the relevant teaching staff, to the student who, among those completing the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in geophysics, is judged to have completed the most outstanding piece of research in the fields of numerical geology or computer modelling in geoscience. 2. If, in any year, no candidate is considered worthy of the prize, it is not awarded in that year and the money available for it is added to the capital sum. |
