Alcoa of Australia Award [F8048]Alcoa of Australia, having agreed to provide a sum of $1000 annually for the purpose of encouraging interest in occupational medicine at the undergraduate level, the Alcoa of Australia Award is established and is administered in accordance with the following regulations. 1. The whole of the award is used to provide a grant or a grant-in-aid to a student for a research project undertaken either as part of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Medical Science or as a discrete project during a long vacation. 2. Only projects proposed by undergraduate medical students who have successfully completed the Level 3 units of the course for the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery will be considered for the award. 3. The award is made by the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry on the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and a qualified medical practitioner nominated by Alcoa of Australia. 4. The award is advertised annually with a closing date of 31 August. 5. Any thesis or publication resulting from research under a grant must acknowledge the assistance of the award. |
