that follow.
The statutory entity, the Faculty of
Business, is known as the UWA Business School.
Macquarie Group Foundation donates $6000 annually to
fund a scholarship for a UWA Business School student who
is completing the final 48 points of the Bachelor of
Commerce course with one or more of the following
majors: Financial Accounting, Managerial
Accounting, Finance (Corporate), Finance (Investment) or
Finance (Quantitative) and who demonstrates academic
achievement and leadership potential. The scholarship is
established and administered in accordance with the
following conditions.
Title
1. The scholarship is called the Macquarie Group
Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship.
Purpose
2. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist
and encourage a meritorious UWA Business School student
who has leadership potential, to complete the final 48
points of the Bachelor of Commerce course.
Value
3. The value of the scholarship is $6000.
Eligibility Requirements
4. To be eligible to apply for the scholarship
an applicant must be—
(a) a citizen
or permanent resident of Australia; and
(b) in the
year for which the scholarship is sought, be completing
the final 48 points of the Bachelor of Commerce course
with one or more of the following majors: Financial
Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Finance
(Corporate), Finance (Investment) or Finance
(Quantitative).
Body Responsible for Selection
5. The selection committee for the scholarship
comprises—
(a) the Dean of
the UWA Business School, or nominee;
(b) the Deputy
Dean (Operations) of the UWA Business School, or
nominee;
(c) a Macquarie
Group Foundation representative.
Selection Criteria
6. The scholarship is awarded to the applicant
who, in the opinion of the selection committee, best
demonstrates—
(a) academic
achievement; and
(b) leadership
potential.
Awarding Body
7. The scholarship is awarded by the UWA
Business School, on the recommendation of the selection
committee.
Duration of Award
8. The scholarship is tenable for two semesters
which are normally consecutive.
Concurrent Award
9. The scholarship may not be held concurrently
with another external or University award.
Application Procedure
10.(1) The UWA Business School advertises the
scholarship within the UWA Business School, and on the
UWA Business School web site.
(2) Written applications
addressing the selection criteria must be accompanied
by—
(a) a cover
letter outlining the applicant's reasons for applying for
the scholarship; and
(b) a
curriculum vitae that includes details of—
(i) academic
achievements; and
(ii) the
following as appropriate:

sporting activities and achievements;
-
community service;
-
participation in community, voluntary or other
work; and
-
leadership positions held at school, university, in
the workplace or in the community.
(3) Completed
applications must be submitted to the Faculty
Administrative Officer of the UWA Business School by the
advertised closing date.
Administering Body
11. The scholarship is administered by the UWA
Business School.
