Minproc Scholarship in Science and EngineeringMinproc Holdings Limited, having agreed to provide a sum annually to fund scholarships for undergraduate students in the combined course for the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering, the Minproc Scholarship in Science and Engineering is established for that purpose and is administered in accordance with the following regulations. 1. The scholarship is open to applicants for admission to the first year of the combined course for the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering who are permanent residents of Australia. 2. The scholarship is administered by a committee comprising: (a) the Dean of the Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences; (b) the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics; and (c) a nominee from Minproc Holdings Ltd, with power to co-opt up to two more persons as appropriate. 3. Subject to 4, the scholarship is tenable for the duration of the combined course for the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering. 4.(1) The scholarship is offered for an initial period of two years and thereafter renewed annually subject to satisfactory performance as specified by the committee. (2) Academic performance must be acceptable to the committee throughout the period. (3) Failure to comply will result in a review and possible termination of the scholarship. 5. The main criterion for selection is academic merit, although applicants should also show achievement in other fields of interest and endeavour. 6. Shortlisted candidates are normally interviewed by the committee. 7.(1) The value of each scholarship is determined from time to time by the Faculties of Life and Physical Sciences, and Engineering, Computing and Mathematics on the recommendation of the selection committee. (2) The scholarship is paid in two instalments each year. 8. Payment conditions and timing may be varied to suit the scholar's requirements if a need is demonstrated. 9. Applicants who suspend enrolment in the combined course for the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering for the purpose of undertaking honours in Science may continue to receive a scholarship during their enrolment in honours only at the sole discretion of the donor. 10. A scholarship which has been terminated prior to the candidate's completion of the course may be offered to another student, who in the opinion of the committee, is the student in the same year of the course who best meets the selection criteria. |
